Summary
Type: Rudolf Winkelmann had a brewery built in 1874 and transferred it to his four sons. Albert and Jean Winkelmann had trained in brewing abroad; the business became Bierbrauerei Gebr. Winkelmann and in 1895 was renamed Bierbrauerei Affoltern am Albis. After Albert Winkelmann's death in 1904 the Genossenschaft Brauerei Affoltern took over. Brewing ended on 1 October 1907; Brauerei am Uetliberg acquired remaining raw materials, casks, customers and dispensing equipment. Status: CLOSED — Brewing ended 1 OCTOBER 1907. Winkelmann family → Genossenschaft brauerei affoltern → UETLIBERG AS Customer/asset successor The brewery site later became a chemical factory and was ultimately redeveloped; current Brauipark naming preserves site memory only.
