TALLY'SBEER UNIVERSE

Tally's Verified · Independent beer provenance

From field to glass. Follow the evidence.

Every beer starts long before the brewery: a variety, a grower, a cleaner, a maltster. Tally's Verified traces those links for one beer and publishes what the evidence proves — and what it does not — as a permanent Tally Record.

Not an advertising claim. Not a taste rating. Not a purchased endorsement.

What it is

The research is paid for. The findings are not.

Tally's Verified is an independent research service of Tally's Beer Universe Inc., Alberta. Each link in a beer's chain is a separate claim, checked against a written standard. When every claim the standard requires is proven, the Record shows TALLY VERIFIED. When one is not, the Record says so, and says why.

The journey we check

  1. 01

    Seed & variety

Which grain variety went into the beer, and can its identity be shown?

  2. 02

    The grower

Who grew the grain, where, and in which crop year?

  3. 03

    Cleaning & handling

Who cleaned or handled the grain on its way to the malthouse?

  4. 04

    The maltster

Who turned the grain into malt for this beer?

  5. 05

    The brewery

Which brewery made the beer, and where?

  6. 06

    The beer

Is the beer itself identified, so the chain ends at one product?

Which links are required depends on the standard. Not every beer follows the same path, and we do not assume it does.

What it costs

Canadian dollars, plus applicable tax. One beer, one Record. One price for everyone.

  • Opening the RecordPaid once: the number, the page, every required link checked, and the QR code.
    $400
  • Keeping it trueEach year: every claim checked again at least once, and whenever something changes.
    $100 / year
  • The first 10 RecordsEach of the first ten costs less, and that price does not return. After the tenth, opening a Record costs $25 more each time.
    $300

Whether a place among the first ten is still open is confirmed in writing before anything is agreed. The fee is the same whatever the result.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell us about the beer

Write with the brewery, the beer, and who holds the paperwork on its ingredients.

  2. 2

    Five questions, in writing

We reply with five questions. Your answers set the scope and the standard the beer is checked against.

  3. 3

    A one-page proposal

It confirms what the letters settled. Nothing starts until you agree to it, and you can stop at any point before.

  4. 4

    The investigation

We check supplier records, first-party documents and published sources against each claim the standard requires.

  5. 5

    The Record is published

A permanent numbered page with every claim's result, the evidence, the unknowns, and a QR code that points to it.

  6. 6

    Kept true

The annual fee pays for the claims to be checked again at least once a year. Changes are logged, never silently replaced.

Independence is not negotiable

  • A brewery does not buy a favourable result.
  • A supplier does not buy a confirmed connection.
  • A Founding Partner gets no special treatment, and a partnership never includes a Record or its result.
  • We do not invent missing evidence, hide an unresolved claim, or change a finding to suit a customer.

Questions

Does it cover my whole brewery?
No. A Record is for one specifically named beer. Each beer has its own Record and its own number.
Does paying guarantee TALLY VERIFIED?
No. The result is decided by the evidence against a published standard. A Record can be fully verified, partially verified or unresolved, and the price is the same.
What if one link cannot be proven?
That claim says UNKNOWN, and the Record says what evidence would resolve it. Nothing missing is filled in by assumption.
Do I need to know every supplier first?
No. Tell us what you know. The five questions establish what can realistically be checked before you agree to anything.
Will you publish confidential documents?
Not automatically. The Record can describe what was reviewed without publishing the document itself, on terms agreed in writing. The result must still be accurate about what the evidence shows.
Can a result change?
Yes. Evidence can be superseded or contradicted. Every Record carries the date it was last checked, and a change is logged on the page.
Can we use it in marketing?
You can point people to your Record — that is what the QR code is for. The page itself says what is proven and what is not, so the claim cannot outgrow the evidence.

One beer. One investigation. One Record.

Write with the beer's name and who has the paperwork. We will reply with the five questions. Every Record already issued is listed on the register.

Tally's Verified is an independent commercial research service of Tally's Beer Universe Inc. It is not a beer-quality award, a certification of a whole brewery, or a guarantee of complete supply-chain traceability. A result applies only to the named beer, the standard it was checked against, the evidence reviewed and the date of the last check.
