One permanent page per beer, checked against a written standard. The archive tells us what exists, the graph tells us how it connects, the evidence tells us what we can prove, and the record tells the public the result, question marks included.

A record is opened by the archive. You cannot buy the answer; the fee pays for the checking. The number is never given to another beer.
How a beer gets a Record
A Record is a page about one beer that never goes away. It says who made the beer, who owns the brewery, and where the grain and the malt came from, and next to every fact it shows the proof. If we cannot prove something, the page says UNKNOWN instead of guessing. Nobody can pay to change what it says, not even the brewery that asked for it.
Who it is for
A brewery, for one beer. We check the brewery, who owns it, when it started and, if the paperwork exists, the grain, the maltster and the hops.
A maltster or a grain grower, for their whole operation. We check their records once, and every beer made with their malt or grain gets that link already checked.
What is not for sale
The answer. You pay for the checking, not for a good result. If a brewery cannot show us where its malt came from, that line says UNKNOWN and the price is exactly the same. Nobody gets to approve their own page, and there is no sticker or badge without the page behind it.

Canadian dollars. One price for everyone. No discounts, no trials, no bundles.

How to start
Send us an email that names the beer and the person who has the paperwork. We write back with five questions. When you have answered them, we send a one-page proposal. If at any point you decide it is not for you, say so and that is the end of it. The whole service, with the first Record as an example, is explained on Tally's Verified.

What has to be true before a mark shows. A claim must be VERIFIED — a canonical record, identified correctly, with evidence — for every item a standard requires. What a standard leaves out is stated too, because an omission should be a decision.

TPS-PLATINUM Platinum Seed-to-Beer DECLARED
Every lot and batch identified from seed to beer, one generation further back than the grain: where the seed was grown and its pedigreed class, recorded apart from where the barley grew (seed grown in one province, planted in another, is a fact, not a fault). Common seed cannot meet it; that is no penalty, the evidence simply stops sooner. No record meets it today, and the page says so.
