What we have established
Type: Johan Conrad Hitz founded Brauerei Horn near the lake in 1867 and began production in spring 1868. Konrad Wolz was hired as brewmaster and acquired the brewery in 1874, expanding output to about 10,000 hl annually. In April 1901 the business became Aktienbrauerei Richterswil; the Bezirksgericht Horgen opened bankruptcy proceedings on 2 March 1905. Gebrüder Weber of Wädenswil took over its customers. Status: CLOSED — BANKRUPTCY 1905. HITZ → WOLZ → Aktienbrauerei richterswil → Customer transfer TO GEBRÜDER WEBER A modern commemorative Richterswiler beer was later produced by another brewery; do not count it as production continuity at the historical Richterswil site.
