Brauerei Langnau / Gugolz

Langnau am Albis, Switzerland

From the record

What we have established

Type: Local Langnau history says Johann Jakob Gugolz established the beer brewery in 1869/70 with a dedicated brewery building, vaulted cellar, brew kettle and coolship. By 1900, after a judicial composition involving Jakob Gugolz-Brunner, the brewery passed to widow Anna Gugolz-Weber, who operated the associated inn and leased the brewing operation to Bavarian brewers Frei and Hösl. The brewery went bankrupt in 1905 under Anna Gugolz. Status: CLOSED — BANKRUPTCY 1905. Gugolz family → Anna gugolz-weber / leased brewing 1900. The exact personal-name sequence between Johann/Jakob Gugolz generations is preserved cautiously; do not conflate owner, innkeeper and lessee roles.
