What we have established
Type: Contemporary and archival sources now provide a tighter Uster chronology. An 1893 Zürich industrial directory lists Gebrüder Bartenstein, Brauerei Uster, founded 1859, with Peter, Martin and Hans as proprietors. A Zürich government decision dated 28 February 1908 records that the collective partnership Gebrüder Bartenstein was dissolved after Hans Bartenstein-Hämig withdrew and Peter Bartenstein took over the entire business; the firm was deleted from the commercial register on 11 October 1906. Later records preserve Brauerei Uster, P. Bartenstein AG and the 1977 Hürlimann sale/1978 production shutdown. Status: CLOSED — Historical production ended 1978. STAHEL → GEBRÜDER BARTENSTEIN (Peter/martin/hans 1893) → Peter bartenstein sole takeover 1906 → P. BARTENSTEIN AG → HÜRLIMANN The 1906 partnership dissolution is now primary-source Do not treat deletion of Gebrüder Bartenstein as brewery closure; Peter continued the business.
