Summary
Type: Rudolf Zolliker established the brewery at Neugut am Letzigraben in 1836. It passed to Heinrich Hotz in 1849 and was initially shut; Andreas Rosenberger later operated brewing for roughly two to three years in the early 1860s. Brewing was fully ended by 1863. Status: CLOSED — Brewing ended BY 1863. ZOLLIKER → Hotz / rosenberger Keep this Altstetten Sonne brewery separate from similarly named Swiss breweries, including modern Sonnenbräu in St. Gallen.

Resolves held claim HOC-0525 ("FOUNDER / OWNER"). Zolliker of the Brauerei zum Strohhof set up a brewery at the Neugut am Letzigraben estate in Altstetten in 1836 — the Brauerei zur Sonne. The pass's 1843 date belongs to his hand-over of the Strohhof to his son-in-law (1843 or 1844), not to the Sonne founding.
Ownership history is kept as dated events, so a change of owner never overwrites the one before it.
