Brockopp Brewing
Valley City, USA · Est. 2020
From the record
What we have established
Opened 22 January 2020 at 114 E Main St; owners Scott and Nicki Brockopp spent more than a year renovating the former Nu Bar building on Main Street. A former bar preceded the brewery at the site; that is site reuse and the Nu Bar is NOT a brewery predecessor. Survived the pandemic period: Valley City renewed its alcohol licence in June 2020, a 2025 city meeting renewed it again, and current records list Brockopp Brewing LLC as the city's brewer-taproom licensee for the 2026 budget cycle. Scott Brockopp told a reporter in 2021 that there had never previously been a brewery in Valley City, and earlier Tally's territorial sweeps also failed to find one - but a founder statement plus an unsuccessful search is not proof, so the absolute first-brewery-ever claim is held as LIKELY and is not published as fact.
