Summary
Jamestown's modern brewery. Soft opening 18-20 May 2023, public opening 22 May 2023, at 121 3rd St NW in the former Jamestown Sun building, purchased in August 2022 - a former newspaper office, not a brewery predecessor. OWNERSHIP IS BROADER THAN THE TWO VISIBLE PRINCIPALS. Opening-era evidence says six households were founding owners with additional outside investors, mostly from Jamestown; Nick Bruns and Emma Kleingartner were identified as co-owners and John Rose as general manager and co-brewer. A 2024 regional profile presents Bruns and Kleingartner as the owners, which does not establish that every earlier investor exited; the dated cap-table transition is PARTIAL RESOLUTION and full percentages are UNKNOWN. Co-owner Christian Cairy described Drift Prairie in 2023 as Jamestown's first brewery since the 1880s, and earlier Tally's research independently recovered 1880s Jamestown brewing - the claim is plausible and consistent, but is carried as the first modern Jamestown brewery verified by Tally's rather than upgraded to an unqualified statewide archival fact.
