Type: National Library authority record establishes the Eagle Brewery in Masterton from 1880, William Burridge's 1898 purchase, family operation through the dry period, and purchase by New Zealand Breweries in 1954. Do not equate the modern Horseshoe Taproom at 4 Queen Street with the historical brewery footprint until archival property/site evidence proves the address match. Address: Southern Queen Street, Masterton — exact street number UNKNOWN.
