What we have established

Address: Cold River, Walpole area. Walker, Blake & Company erected the lager brewery on Cold River in spring 1877. The five-story brick plant cost $56,000, used a 600-ton ice refrigerator, and had capacity for 2,000 barrels at a time. German brewer Charles Keller ran brewing and E. E. Dewey was general agent. A local history says production was about 15,000 barrels annually by 1880. The plant burned in 1882, was rebuilt, and burned again in 1905.
