Flatland Brewery
West Fargo, USA · Est. 2016
From the record
What we have established
West Fargo's first brewery, opened near the end of July 2016 at 3140 Bluestem Drive, Suite 105. Founded by Frank Clemens and Aaron Chapman, former Jamestown residents who turned roughly a decade of homebrewing into the business; West Fargo municipal records show the liquor-licence process underway in April 2016. Announced permanent closure effective 2 August 2020, explicitly attributing the shutdown to COVID-19 restrictions and the resulting financial hardship - one of the few North Dakota closures the brewery itself tied to the pandemic. NOT THE SAME BREWERY as Flatland Brewing Company of Elk Grove, California, which shares the name and the 2016 founding year; no ownership, award or beer from the California entity belongs on this record. Full equity group and ownership at closure: PARTIAL RESOLUTION. Source: contemporary local reporting and West Fargo municipal records, per North Dakota Pass 23.
