What we have established
Opened October 2017 at 17 N 3rd Street as a 10-barrel production brewery, in the former Dakota Harvest Bakery building; Grand Forks economic-development records describe the conversion of 17 N Third Street into a microbrewery. That is place succession - a bakery preceded the brewery at the site, and no business lineage connects them. OWNERSHIP IS NOT A 50/50 STORY DESPITE THE NAME. A May 2017 Grand Forks financing record shows an earlier application included an ownership interest by Taylor Nord, removed from the revised application because he was under 21. Later company financing records identify Chad Gunderson as President with 52% ownership and Taylor Nord as Vice President, with contemporary reporting describing a broader investor group of family and friends whose interests are not individually reconstructed. Chad Gunderson is founder, co-creator and principal owner; Taylor Nord is co-creator and later vice president; the opening-date equity requires dated treatment. Reduced hours from November 2023 because of labour shortages, but remained a brewing operation. Chad Gunderson's brewing career runs Mighty Mo Brewing Company, Lewis and Clark Brewing Company, Rhombus Guys Brewing Company, then Half Brothers - a brewer career lineage, NOT corporate or site succession from Rhombus Guys.
