Icewind Brewing
Mapleton, USA · Est. 2020
From the record
What we have established
Opened its taproom 2 June 2020 at 349 Knutson St, running a 7-barrel brewhouse with a 2-barrel pilot system. Owners Rick Brandvold, Tyler Mangin and Scott Diamond; Brandvold and Mangin were operating partners. Founder Rick Brandvold says Icewind originated when two separate brewery teams combined, some participants left, and the remaining team bought the old DCR brewery. THAT IS ASSET AND SITE SUCCESSION, NOT CORPORATE SUCCESSION: Icewind did not acquire Drumconrath the company, which had relocated to Fargo in 2019 and continued separately until 2022. The precise purchase date, which equipment and assets were included, and whether premises rights transferred in the same transaction are all UNKNOWN. Full equity percentages UNKNOWN. Opened during the pandemic period and survived, which is why pandemic timing must never be read as pandemic causation. Source: founder interview and brewery-managed profile, per North Dakota Passes 24-25.
