Status: Historical / closed. Statistics Canada's 1975 brewery census lists a Labatt brewery establishment in Stephenville, and the 1977 census explicitly lists Labatt Breweries of Newfoundland Ltd. (Stephenville Plant). Contemporary Western Star reporting confirms the plant was still operating in 1980. NL Heritage says Labatt began operations at the site in 1974 and ceased brewing there in fall 1981 when work was transferred to St. John's.
