What we have established
Fritz Sick's original brewing operation, 1901. Site chosen at the corner of 1st Street and 2nd Avenue South for water and railway access. Became Lethbridge Brewing and Malting Co. in 1905 and Lethbridge Breweries Ltd. in 1918 before entering the 1928 Associated Breweries amalgamation. Brewing ceased 1990; the buildings were demolished in 1991. Old Style Pilsner and Alberta's Pride are both evidenced here through surviving bottles held by the Galt Museum & Archives. [Sicks Pass 01]

Behind the beer
Founded the Lethbridge brewing operation in 1901 after brewing in Cincinnati, Tacoma, Trail BC and Fort Steele BC. Acquired Regina Brewing in 1924 and the Edmonton brewery in 1926 or 1927 - the sources differ. Opened Capilano in Vancouver in 1934.

Evidenced at Lethbridge by surviving 1950-1960 bottles held by the Galt Museum & Archives, catalogue P19910080001, brewed and bottled by Sick's Lethbridge Brewery Ltd. ALSO evidenced at Regina by a Galt-held label, catalogue P19770280013, reading 'brewed and bottled by Sick's Regina Brewery Limited'. A multi-site beer: it ORIGINATED at Lethbridge and was later BREWED AT Regina, and possibly other Sick's sites where evidence has not been found. [Sicks Pass 01]
