Ownership & corporate history
- Founded by Fritz Sick1924
What the sources say
Resolves held claim HOC-0389 ("FOUNDER / LICENCE ACQUIRER"). The Sicks of Lethbridge began construction of the Prince Albert Brewing Company in May 1924, Fritz acquiring Hiram Fletcher's existing brewer's licence and building new near 17th Street West and 6th Avenue — a founding on a purchased licence, not an acquisition of a brewery. Later Sick's Prince Albert Brewery; Molson acquired the plant in 1958 (the same transaction family as Edmonton's) and ran it to the final packaging shift of 1986-04-04 — both leads for this record's later chain.
- Subsidiary of Associated Breweries of Canada Ltd.1928
What the sources say
Resolves held claim HOC-0391 ("WHOLLY OWNED PARENT"). In 1928 Fritz Sick renamed his growing empire Associated Breweries of Canada Ltd. — then Canada's second-largest brewing company — bringing the Prince Albert brewery under the new corporate identity.
