What we have established
THE BREWERY CLOSED; THE RESTAURANT DID NOT. The downtown Grand Forks brewery taproom, in the Opera House building, closed permanently in July 2023 and brewing ceased; owner Matt Winjum said remaining Rhombus beer would continue to be served at the separate Kittson Avenue pizza restaurant until supplies ran out. This record covers the brewing operation only - the pizza restaurant is a separate continuing business and its lifecycle must not be collapsed into this one. Co-owners Matt Winjum and Arron Hendricks. The former taproom space remained vacant and by 2026 The Spud Jr. was moving in; that is a later restaurant occupying the site, not brewery succession. Chad Gunderson brewed here before founding Half Brothers - a brewer career lineage, not a corporate or site relationship between the two breweries. FOUNDING YEAR IS APPROXIMATE and not taken from a dated founding source, hence C confidence. The exact final production batch and the fate of the brewing equipment are UNKNOWN.
