Two brewers with roots at Goose Island opened Miskatonic Brewing in Darien, Illinois in 2015, naming it after the fictional university H.P. Lovecraft invented for his Cthulhu Mythos stories. The brewery closed in early 2026, but its Lovecraftian branding outlived it as one of the more thoroughly documented pieces of tap handle design in American craft beer.
