SFU's continuity row begins in 1864 and culminates in the Barkerville Brewery, running from 1866 to 1880 — sixteen years in a settlement that existed because of gold and largely emptied once it ran out. Barkerville is a preserved historic town today, which makes this one of the very few breweries in this archive whose ground you can still walk as it was.

"In 1863, J.B. Chancellier and Nicolas Cunio opened Barkerville Brewery, Saloon, and Lodging House in the new mining town of Barkerville" (BC Ale Trail, citing Brendan Bailey); the modern Barkerville Brewing dates Cunio's building to 1865. Both kept beside the SFU row's 1864.
