Birmingham Brewing Company (1889)

Four years, ended by a financial panic rather than by anything to do with beer. It stood at the 22nd Street and Avenue D–E site and failed during the Panic of 1893, along with thousands of other American businesses. The site outlived the company: the lineage there carried on to the Alabama Brewing Company in 1897. Not to be confused with the Birmingham Brewing Company of 1992 — an entirely separate business 103 years later, held here as its own record.
