Boemer & Wirth (Stockton brewers)
Stockton, California, USA
Tally's Take
Why this matters
A surname pair and two years of measured output: the 1880 national brewing survey lists Boemer & Wirth at Stockton with 515 barrels sold in 1878 and 612 in 1879. Trade name, address, opening, closure and beers are all unknown and stay unknown. The same survey page lists Elizabeth Neistrath and Daniel Rothenbush at Stockton as well, which is the entire reason this record exists as its own entity — three concurrent brewers in one city, and the barrel counts prove all three were actually making beer rather than merely holding a name.
