Tally's Take

Why this matters

Founded at Bénifontaine in 1926, in the coalfield south of Lille. In 1979 Yves Castelain launched Ch'ti Blonde, a bière de garde named for the region's own word for itself — one of the beers that carried the style out of farmhouse survival and onto the national market.
