Brasserie J.-N. Spénard Limitée / Brasserie des Trois-Rivières Limitée
Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada · Est. 1917
Tally's Take
Why this matters
The best-documented ending in the Quebec records, because it went through the courts. Trois-Rivières Numérique places Brasserie J.-N. Spénard Limitée on rue Sainte-Marguerite on plans from 1917 and 1929, after which it became Brasserie des Trois-Rivières Limitée — and a 1929 Goad fire-insurance plan independently labels the site under that name. Then the Quebec Official Gazette of 14 June 1930 records the company bankrupt and schedules an auction for 3 July 1930 of the brewery property, buildings, machinery and accessories. A gazette notice is an unglamorous source and an unusually exact one.
