Summary
Founder: Johann Georg Pfister. Status as recorded: ACTIVE. Current small family brewery. First-party history dates founding to March 5, 1848, when Johann Georg Pfister married Magdalena Betz and immediately began brown-beer brewing; royal brewing concession followed in 1850. Brewery converted to organic production in 1994 and joined Bioland in 1995.
