Type: Bern heritage history says Johann Juker began brewing in Wabern in 1864; Feldschlösschen acquired the majority in 1970 and announced transfer of all production to Rheinfelden at the end of 1996. The Gurten brand continued after the Wabern site closed. Status: Closed site — Wabern production ended 1996/1997; Brand continued. FELDSCHLÖSschen control Use 1996 as announced end-of-year production stop and 1997 as first post-site production year where sources differ; preserve date nuance rather than flattening.
