Prince Albert historical research documents an 1888 Caledonia Brewery advertisement for Saskatchewan Hop Ale, Charles Woodman as proprietor, a move to East Hill in 1892, and sale to J.R.     Saskatchewan (Hop) Ale

    An 1888 advertisement for the Caledonia Brewery "located in the east end of Prince Albert at what is now 12th Avenue and River Street East" — "Saskatchewan (Hop) Ale, delivered to all parts of the town" — names Charles Woodman as proprietor; the 1888 McPhillips' Saskatchewan Directory lists him as a saloon keeper in the east end. A delivery receipt survives in the Bill Smiley Archives at the Prince Albert Historical Museum.
