Emerson Brewery (name unknown)
Emerson, Manitoba, Canada
Tally's Take
Why this matters
Manitoba Pass 26 master. Research brewery ID: MB-B0064. Entity type: Historical production brewery — canonical name unknown. Pass 17 closeout recovery. Brandon Sun's account of Wright & Craig's Manitoba brewery research states that Crown Brewery, which opened in Brandon in 1888, used both brewing equipment and a brewer obtained second-hand from a failed brewery in Emerson. This is sufficient to preserve a real physical Emerson brewery predecessor, but the source does not supply its business name, operator, site or exact dates. CLOSED_YEAR is recorded as 1888 only as a latest-possible boundary: the Emerson brewery had already failed before Crown opened.
