Tally's Take

Why this matters

Gottlieb Reinhardt's brewery, running from 1852 and one of the fourteen swept into the National Breweries consolidation of 1909. The Reinhardt name appears twice in this archive and not by accident: Lothar Reinhardt Jr. opened a competing Montréal operation in 1900, the Salvador Reinhardt Brewery. Two Reinhardt breweries competed in the same city for nine years, and then the same consolidation took both.
