Tally's Take

Why this matters

Type: Melchior Erdinger established Brauerei Riedtli in 1825. The brewery passed through several lessees and owners, including Horber & Kern, Herzog and Gebrüder Kleiner. Waldemar Kramm acquired it in 1898, renamed it Gambrinus and modernized cooling. In 1904 it entered Vereinigte Brauereien Zürich and was shut during the merger into Union-Brauerei.. Status: CLOSED — GAMBRINUS OPERATION SHUT IN 1904 MERGER. Ownership as recorded: ERDINGER → MULTIPLE OPERATORS → KRAMM → UNION NETWORK VERIFIED. Several buildings were demolished at the 1904 consolidation. [Switzerland Pass 24]
