Why this matters
Six years of paperwork and no founding date. Statistics Canada lists Grant's at 49 Stadacona from 1950 through 1956, taking the address directly over from Riedle, who is still there in the 1949 material. Canadian corporate-concentration research records Canadian Breweries gaining control during the 1950s, and by 1958 the Manitoba brewing list shows O'Keefe Brewing Co. instead. The incorporation year is unknown. What the record does show plainly is a small brewery bought into a national group and renamed inside a decade.
