- 1895An English syndicate consolidates five breweries
"an English-based syndicate, Halifax Breweries Limited, consolidated four of the five breweries in Nova Scotia (all situated in metropolitan Halifax) and one in Charlottetown" (Dictionary of Canadian Biography). Oland Brewery's history names them: "Maritime Brewing Company, J. Lindberg's Brewery, P. and J. O'Mullins, Charles Hayward Crystal Springs, and Morris and Hyndman's Brewery" — the last is the Brighton Brewery at Charlottetown, which reconciles the two counts. Keith's is named by neither.
- 1901The Olands run it, then leave
John C. Oland was manager until 1901, when, "barred from entering into direct competition with his employer, he left". George W. C. Oland, superintendent of operations, left in 1899; in 1901 "he moved to Prince Edward Island to run the Halifax Breweries plant there, and by 1904 he was back in Halifax as general manager for the firm".
- 1909Competition from Highland Spring
In 1909 George Oland bought the Highland Spring brewery on Agricola Street, which "operated in direct competition with his long-time employer, Halifax Breweries".
- 1917Turtle Grove destroyed
The Turtle Grove works were destroyed in the Halifax Explosion of 6 December 1917. Whether Halifax Breweries Limited was still operating then, its fate under Nova Scotia prohibition (1916-1930) and its dissolution: UNKNOWN.
