Henry Narcoe (Hollister brewer)
Hollister, California, USA
Tally's Take
Why this matters
California Pass 187. The 1880 national brewing survey Beer, Its History and Its Economic Value as a National Beverage lists Henry Narcoe at Hollister among California brewers, with 300 barrels sold in 1878 and 366 barrels in 1879. This is direct measured production evidence for a distinct Hollister brewer decades before the later Wahl-era Hollister Brewery. Pass 112 keeps Narcoe as a separate proprietor-named historical production entity because no sale, address, trade-name or continuity evidence links him to the later Hollister Brewery. Exact opening, closure, site and product names remain UNKNOWN.
