The source directly supports a named brewery and proprietor in the settlement. Later Sierra County Historical Society material discusses an F. X. Becker brewery phase in Howland Flat, but exact opening/closure years and whether all Becker references represent one continuous legal operation remain unresolved. No beer row is added because the strong accepted sources do not name a specific product.
