Summary
After the Humboldt brand was sold and renamed in 1904, a new industrial brewery was built on Broadway and opened June 8, 1905. It burned four months later and was rebuilt in brick and steel by the following year. Brewing stopped July 1, 1919 under wartime prohibition; the plant remained idle but intact until George Mullin acquired and restarted it in 1933, renaming the business Humboldt Malt & Brewing Company. Historical-society research says the company was bankrupt by February 1940 and closed later that year.
