Los Angeles Public Library history says Los Angeles Brewing Company opened on Main Street in 1897 and that the location later became Eastside Brewery and Pabst Brewery before closing in 1979. A primary August 1897 Los Angeles Herald report says the company had filed articles and was preparing to build a new brewery plant, while a 1905 Los Angeles Herald feature describes the operating Los Angeles Brewing Company plant and beer production.
