Status: Active / house brewery. Current legal operator is Mälzer GbR. The 1540 brewing-site history is physical-site lineage and is not used as the founding year of the current brewpub. Current house brewery at Heiligengeiststraße 43. First-party site says the building was documented as a brewing place in 1540, but the modern Mälzer operation began in 1997 and still brews unfiltered beer onsite.
