Molson Winnipeg Brewery (Redwood site)

The last operator of the Redwood brewery, and the one that switched it off. The 1989 Molson–Carling-O'Keefe merger handed Molson a plant that had been making beer since before 1877, under Herchmer & Batkin, then Drewry, then Western Canada Breweries, then Carling and Carling-O'Keefe. The Manitoba Historical Society records Molson closing the Winnipeg brewery in 1997; the building was demolished in 1999. Eight years as operator, at the end of more than a century of brewing on one corner.
