What we have established

Type: Historical brewer / production brewery. Status: HISTORICAL - PRODUCTION VERIFIED 1878-1879; LIFECYCLE ENDPOINTS UNKNOWN. Pass 144: F. W. Salem's 1880 national List of Brewers places Ainsworth, Oliver at Penn Yan with 118 barrels for the year ending May 1878 and 321 for the year ending May 1879. The March 4, 1878 Congressional Record separately records Oliver Ainsworth petitioning against any change in the duty on barley and malt. A 1878 breweriana auction listing names 'Oliver Ainsworth Chas. A. Stone Agent Penn Yan, New York,' retained only as an agent/site discovery lead. Formal brewery name, exact premises, ownership structure, beer identities, opening/closure dates and relationship to other Penn Yan brewery/malt sites remain UNKNOWN. [New York Pass 153]
