Timeline

  1. 1888
Amber (Hop) Ale on Third Street

An 1888 advertisement: "the Prince Albert Brewery on 3rd Street (now 13th Street and 1st Avenue East) produced an 'Amber (Hop) Ale of superior quality'", delivered anywhere in town by its proprietors McIntosh and Gerrond. McPhillips' Directory lists James McIntosh as a brewer resident on Third Street and James Gerrond as "of McIntosh & Gerrond, brewers, r, Third-st."

  2. 1889
    The Gerrond Brothers

"by the following year, 1889, the ownership of the brewery was reported to be the Gerrond Brothers" — the second brother "likely to have been William Gerrond", listed as a teacher at Halcro, about twelve miles south-east. Nothing later found.
