Queen City Distillers was publicly launched on 2025-10-29 as a reimagining of the former YQR Distillery at 1700 Elphinstone St. Official company material describes a premium craft distillery and brewery, identifies Shaun Semple as founder/owner, and states by 2025-12-19 that the distilling and brewing businesses were already operating. Robert Walsh joined as Operations Manager and Master Brewmaster and immediately assumed responsibility for the operations.
