The modern attempt to bring Berliner Weisse back, and it lasted nine years. Ulrike Genz founded Schneeeule in 2016 with Andreas Bogk, specialising in the city's own nearly-vanished style. Genz announced closure effective 30 September 2025 under economic pressure. In 2026 Schneeeule announced a new partner and an intended revival — the archive records the closure as fact and the revival as announced, because no resumed production site has been established.
