Shasta Brewery
Shasta, California, USA
Tally's Take
Why this matters
California Pass 187. Historical Shasta Courier material documents Shasta Brewery and its lager beer by 1859-1860. A surviving November 17, 1860 Shasta Courier page explicitly references 'Shasta brewery lager Beer' alongside other regional beer offerings. A recent Shasta County historical reconstruction identifies a November 19, 1859 Shasta Courier brewery item, but exact founder, opening date, ownership, site address and closure remain UNKNOWN. Pass 101 treats 1859 as a documentary anchor only, not a founding year.
