British Columbia Tribune (Yale), 23 April 1866: "Brewery at Big Bend.—Mr. Steinberger of Yale is about to start a brewery at Big Bend, the utensils required being already forwarded. A company of Frenchmen are also gone to commence a brewery on French Creek, Kootenay." (PRIMARY) So a Steinberger did brew at Yale in the 1860s; whether he is the William Steinberger of Victoria's brewery of 1858-59: UNKNOWN.
