Tally's Take
Why this matters
Germany Pass 25. Founder: Franz Hess / later Christian Sünner. Status as recorded: ACTIVE. Current historic production brewery at Kalker Hauptstraße. BRAUWELT says brewing began with Franz Hess's 1830 house brewery; Christian Sünner later took over. Malzmühle acquired Sünner in 2022, but Sünner beer production continues in Kalk with open fermentation and own-well water.
