Sapperton / Westminster Brewery lineage

New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada · Est. 1879

01

Tally's Take

Why this matters

Seventy-one years across three names: Sapperton Brewery in 1879, Westminster Brewery from 1879 to 1905, and Westminster Brewery Ltd. from 1905 to 1950 — including straight through Prohibition, which most British Columbia brewing companies did not manage. Where the coastal and Kootenay lines in this archive all terminate in the early 1920s as prohibition lifts, this one simply carried on for another thirty years.
