The long drive east, where the St. Lawrence widens until you can't see across it. Auval brews in Val-d'Espoir to a global reputation and almost no distribution; À l'abri de la Tempête malts its own barley on the Îles-de-la-Madeleine; Tadoussac pours where the whales come into the fjord. These are the most remote breweries in eastern Canada and several of the best.
