- 1895Fourteen years inside Halifax Breweries
The family's Maritime Brewing and Malting Company sold into the English syndicate Halifax Breweries Limited in 1895; "After an absence of 14 years, the Olands were once again independent brewery proprietors" when George W. C. Oland bought the Highland Spring brewery on Agricola Street in 1909 (the company's own history says 1905).

"In 1914 George reincorporated Highland Spring as Oland and Son Limited"; his son Sidney C. Oland vice-president, John C. Oland brewmaster.

"1917 – Halifax Explosion kills Conrad G. Oland and destroys the Turtle Grove brewery and the Agricola Street brewery"; "1922 – Sidney C. Oland rebuilds Agricola Street brewery". The Turtle Grove works (1867-1917) are on army-and-navy-brewery (TB-69KQT4WB).
