Tally's Take

Why this matters

The other half of a family story. Susannah Oland's brewing enterprise, founded in 1867, eventually split between branches — one line carried on to Saint John and became Moosehead, still family-owned today; the Halifax operation was sold to Labatt and is now part of AB InBev. Same founder, same year, two entirely different endings. Read this page next to Moosehead's and you have the whole history of Canadian brewing ownership in a single family.
