Its acquisition of United Malt Group for AU$1.5bn lifted annual capacity by half to 3.7 million tonnes across 41 facilities in 20 countries, and brought Canada Malting, Great Western Malting, Bairds Malt and Barrett Burston under one owner. Funding partners in Malteries Soufflet include KKR, Bpifrance and Crédit Agricole.
